Our Doctors
Dr. Shelby Norville
Dr. Shelby Norville attended University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 2021. Prior to veterinary school, she graduated from Taylorville High School, Lincoln Land Community College and obtained a bachelor’s degree in biology from University of Illinois at Springfield.
Dr. Shelby started at Northside Veterinary Clinic in 2023 and became the owner of Northside in 2026. She enjoys seeing small animal patients (rabbits included!) and ruminants.
She resides on a farm with her husband (Trent), and two boys (Tucker and Sawyer). On their farm, they raise row crops, Boer and Nubian goats, a few cows, chickens and guinea fowl. She has 2 wonder guardian dogs, Opal and Martha, and a great companion dog, Margo.
When Dr. Shelby is not in the office, she enjoys spending time outside with her family, gardening and working with her livestock.
Dr. Randy Thompson
Dr. Randy Thompson grew up in Indiana and attended Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine. He graduated in 1984.
He and his wife Gina moved to Taylorville and in 1999, Dr. Thompson became the owner of Northside Veterinary Clinic, until 2026 when Dr. Norville purchased the clinic.
Dr. Thompson and his wife love to travel- taking road trips and going on cruises. Their daughter, Dr. Emily Thompson is an optometrist in Oklahoma , and they travel to see her several times a year.
